God of Carnage centers on the aftermath of a playground fight between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it. Translated by Christopher Hampton, the play was a hit in London’s West End in a production that starred Tony winners Ralph Fiennes and Janet McTeer who is set to headline the upcoming Broadway transfer of Mary Stuart Tamsin Greig and Ken Scott.
Gandolfini, best known for his long run as mobster Tony Soprano in The Sopranos a role that earned him three Best Actor Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe, appeared on Broadway in On the Waterfront and A Streetcar Named Desire.
Daniels co-starred with Rachel York in Tommy Tune’s Chicago production of the new musical Turn of the Century last September and appeared on the New Yor stage most recently in Manhattan Theatre Club's off-Broadway production of Blackbird. His Broadway credits include Redwood Curtain, The Golden Age, Fifth of July and Gemini. Before beginning his busy film career Good Night and Good Luck, The Squid and the Whale, Dumb and Dumber, The Hours, Daniels starred in numerous productions at Circle Rep in the 1970s and 1980s.
Davis has appeared on Broadway in Ivanov and Two Shakespearean Actors and off-Broadway in Spinning Into Butter, The Food Chain, Pterodactyls, Measure for MeasureGoodnight Desdemona Good Morning Juliet. A Golden Globe nominee for American Splendor, Davis has appeared in films such as About Schmidt, The Secret Life of Dentists, Synecdoche, New York and the TV series Six Degrees.
Harden, an Oscar winner for Pollock, received a Tony nomination for Angels in America: Millennium Approaches and has appeared on Broadway in Angels in America: Perestroika and off-Broadway in The Exonerated, The Seagull, Simpatico, The Years and The Man Who Shot Lincoln. Her films include Mystic River and Into the Wild.
Paris-based playwright Reza is best known for Art, winner of the 1998 Tony for Best Play. Art director Warchus was honored last season when his Boeing-Boeing successfully transferred from London to Broadway, winning the Tony for Best Revival over Hampton's returning hit Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
God of Carnage reunites the creative team that staged Art, including Mark Thompson sets and costumes, Hugh Vanstone lighting and Simon Baker & Chris Cronin sound. The play has music by Gary Yershon. God of Carnage will be produced on Broadway by Robert Fox, David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers, Stuart Thompson, Scott Rudin and The Shubert Organization.
